As someone without a huge background in music — or, at least, someone who recognizes that it would take an enormous amount of time to amass the kind of cultural fluency I’m after — I started this blog as an experiment in finding other ways to talk about the music I love. So far the answer has mainly been adjectives. Also fruity metaphors. Lots of exclamation points.

I am currently local to New Haven, CT, and will probably spend a proportionate amount of time talking about the music from around here, but there are no rules.

This blog also started as a way to catalog all the connections that lead from one music discovery to another, but it quickly started to look like an exercise in the worst kind of name dropping where no one actually cares about the names you scatter around. I try to catalog with a light hand now, but origin stories, subjective breadcrumb trails, webs of context, all that bullshit still fascinates the hell out of me. Maybe one day I will draw out a chart.
